If you're into living and doing adventures outdoors then you're probably also into knives. As a camper or hiker, bringing a knife along is the most important thing. We all know the usability of knives from cutting, slicing and other uses. For this reason, you can find just about any kind of knife design. You can have large knives specially designed to work large tasks. Other knives are specifically designed to produce a thin to thick cuts just like the fillet knife and the butcher knife.

Some larger knives are designed for protection, or doing chores around the camp that involve heavy cutting. If you're into knives with various uses then you can take hold of a survival knife which is usually utilized for camping, hiking and hunting.

Of course, there are laws to be followed with regard to carrying large knives. Just like any other laws, this specific law will depend on your locality, state or country. This law is actually pertains to what you are doing in public with the knife. This law tries to avoid such events where knives are to be used as weapon.

These laws vary widely from state to state. One of the states that allows its people to carry knives is the state of Arizona. Amazingly, the specific states' judicial system permits this law.

In the state of Colorado you can carry just about anything. Nevertheless, carrying knives that are at least 3.5 inches for the purpose of hurting someone is definitely prohibited.

The state of Georgia however doesn't allow its citizens to carry any concealed weapon and can put a bearer to jail if proven guilty. Furthermore, knives can not be brought to any events where there are crowds. Obviously, this law is just a bit complicated that is why you will need to take extra precaution when carrying knives. This is for the fact that knives can pretty much be used in anything specially as a weapon.

In Kentucky, Stout the Commonwealth determined that a 3 inch locking folder is a deadly weapon. If you're someone engaged in outdoor activities you'll know that this type of knife is pretty useful specially if it is folded. These knives can be unfolded and locked for safety.

Moreover, knives can also be totally banned in one state like the state of New Jersey. The law doesn't exactly specify which knives you can carry in public that is why it is difficult to know whether what you have can be something that can be carried in public.

Obviously, having to know where you are should be the first thing to keep in mind if you want to carry a knife around. Of course, those obvious knives designed for camping are allowed in public.
