Could an Accounts Receivable Agency Halt Continuous Microtransactions?

By Rob Sutter

Video games come at many different price points and you'd expect that the more expensive one title is, the better it is. After all, shouldn't value be indicative of the quality that is behind a certain item? It doesn't seem like this counts for games, as a good number of them ask for premium prices yet do not live up to expectations. The games which ask for more money on top of that are my biggest issue with gaming today and it's where an accounts receivable agency could come in.

For those of you, who don't know what microtransactions are; allow me to give you a brief synopsis. Basically, these are smaller purchases that can be made to the games that you have, allowing you to procure items like weapons, supplements like potions, or even alternate costumes to allow your character to utilize. I have a few problems with these and they are ones that a few people may disagree with. From my experience, though, gamers would rather do away with them.

These are small transactions done in games and for those in free titles, I cannot complain much. They did not cost anything to play to begin with so charging for smaller items which can be easily obtained is not something that I can point the blame finger at. However, I can't help but think that full console experiences should be hampered by these. When these are seen, it seems like companies are saying that it's okay to pinch as much money out of its fans as humanly possible.

It's normal for gamers to be well-informed and savvy on the products which are out on the market today. While this may be true, there are a few instances of people probably not knowing much better and this means that they will buy anything that is waved in front of their faces, regardless of whether it seems like a rip off or not. This is a practice that has gone on for some time and it's not one that any company, accounts receivable agency or not, should stand for. I believe that Rapid Recovery would one organization to help these funds go back to the consumers.

Video game companies come in many styles and they have different concepts on what makes business go around. You have those entities which are worth investing money into since they understand the importance of value and not demeaning the customer, either. For those companies which have only money in mind, they are the ones who will potentially suffer. Their company names are going to prove to be unreliable and fewer people will do business with them, which will be negatively impactful to say the least.
