What Does Happen When You Recycle A Tire

By George Dodson

There are so many cars found today. All those cars travel on tires. These tires come in all sizes and types. Some tires are for trucks while others are for smaller vehicles. Most of the tires wear out after a certain time. You need to take some decisions when such things happens. You need to do something with it. If you buy new tires at a tire outlet, most of the time, they will take those tires off your hands. Sometimes, they discard them. They also put them up for sale to people who are just looking for a spare.

When a tire is recycled what actually happens?

Tires can be one of the largest sources of waste. Tire farms dot all the states. These comprises of thousands of tires. These tires are of little use. They can be ground up and turned to what is termed ?crumb.? It is generally used as filler.

Most landfills do not want used tires as they take a lot of space. As a result of decomposing waste material ,it can trap large amounts of methane gas. It then becomes buoyant and rise to the surface. Liners used in most of the landfills keep the contents from damaging the groundwater in the area. Tires tend to upset this process.

Research is done to find out the uses of these tires. Ground up tires can be used as filler in landfills. They can also use this byproduct as a cap on landfills. The convenience of this is that the tires can be shredded onsite instead of being hauling in other filler materials.

Tires are also used in hot melt asphalt. It is also used in replacement asphalt. Those crumbs are also used in certain kinds of concrete as a filler. Old tires are sometimes used by people in home and gardens. They are used to make flowerbeds. The grindings are used as mulch in gardens.

Old tires are turned into fuel gas with the process of pyrolysis. The process of devulcanization is used to turn old tires into crumb. Devulcanization is the method commonly used for turning old tires into crumb. This material can be used in making new tires. It reduces raw material costs.

The process works by heating the tires whole or in shreds, in a huge vessel, in an oxygen free environment. The rubber when gets soft breaks down into smaller molecules. The molecules then vaporize leaving behind the reactor. The vapors are burnt to use as a power source.

By using this process, companies reduce huge tires fields recycle tires for much needed fuel. The process is used by companies to get a good source of fuel.
