What Is A Learning Management System?

By Franklin Skribbit

Rather than focus on the idea of whether graduate school is cost-efficient or not, I hope to help readers understand that it is better than what they are used to, which should play a part in their decision making process. There are many key differences between grad school and a bachelor's degree that make it a better option.

First: You are among more serious students who want to really master their studies. Many of these students have worked hard to get where they are, just like you, and are not going to mess around. Many students find it refreshing to be around those who want to make a difference with their education and not just get a degree to make money. That being said, there still are many who are there just for the money.

"If you fail to plan then you plan to fail," the old adage warns us. Beginning your entrepreneurial journey with a business plan allows you to gain perspective right from the start. Even if you only start with a bulleted list of goals and ideas, that is something and something is better than nothing. The more detailed you get with your business plan, the better.

Third: Students find a sense of accomplishment alongside their learning as they are able to be involved in research and projects that other students don't get to do. Many times they are even able to teach other students and thereby fortify their learning.

Fourth:As a grad student you will find that although the learning is more intense you will find that the schedule is much more flexible. They are more concerned with your thinking than you attendance. Fifth: There is constantly new material coming out and as a grad student it is your job to be on top of it. This keeps you in the in-crowd.

Sixth: Working with intellectuals on a daily bases makes it so that you have a more open mind. Many of the ignorant things that you would hear on a regular day at work are nonexistent or squelched by smart rhetoric. When you are around people that are smart it really provides more enjoyable conversations.

Seventh: There is always a challenge for grad students. It really is hard to find a comfortable spot as a grad student when you feel like there is so much more to learn. The great part about this is that the school trusts you enough and professors rely on you heavily. Even though it may not be comfortable you do feel capable and empowered.

Eighth: While getting your bachelor's degree was a lot of general boring knowledge at times, Graduate programs are often much more specific and require in depth learning. This means that you can jump over the superficial learning and get to the nitty-gritty.

Along with marketing, a small business owner should have a working knowledge of customer service, cash flow management (there are legal issues involved there so be on top of that), project management, and market research. Educating yourself regarding each of these will make you a better manager will help you drive your business toward long term success.

Tenth: You will be able to work alongside some of the greats and eventually become one of those greats. Whether you get your online degree using a learning management system or go the traditional route, there is an exciting life to be had as a grad student.
